When
I was a kid I always wanted to grow up quickly and would wait desperately to
get promoted to the next class so that I could feel all grown up! But every
time I got promoted my hunger for growing up would not stop and I would wish to
grow one more class. Because I thought a grown up got more advantages and was
capable of doing a lot of things that I could not do like going alone to the
market!
Sigh!
How have things changed now. Every year on my birthday I now wish to hold time
and don’t feel like growing up. I want to hold on to the last year because I
don't feel old; I don't feel like I am 26. Because when I was a kid 26 WAS
HUGE! We as kids would talk amongst ourselves "vo didi/bhaiya 24 years k
hain" and then everybody would give expressions of shock and say
"haww"!!
Unlike
what I used to think as a kid I know now for sure that the younger you are,
more capable you are of doing things that older people can't. Look how I call
myself old!
I
guess I am not old enough yet to be called old but the feeling that slowly I am
moving towards the dreadful 30-35 age group. I can hear my heart shout at this
thought.
This
is the last job where I was introduced as a "fresh" graduate in
office, from now theyears are only going to get added up. This is probably also
the last time when my manager introduced me to my team as "meet this young
girl", "she has a fresh mind", as if after this my mind is going
to become stale or something!
When
I look back I am more particular about cleanliness now, I like things more planned
and thought out, I understand life much more clearly, I am less careless and
more mature. Though I still love adventure, fun trips, love to spend time with
friends, love to make silly decisions, love to drink and spend every penny of
my salary every month.
Maybe
I am freaking out but this is how I feel all the time now and it is hard to
make out whether I am growing up or growing old!
Well,
I believe growing old is something that I cannot avoid and nature will follow
its own course no matter how much I would like it to slow down. However,
growing up is something which is in my control and I am going to say this quote
to myself each day "I want to stay young and beautiful"! So that I
feel young, beautiful and vibrant :)

you are young and beautiful indeed and will always be !!
